Type: Freelance (Part-Time – 1 Day per Week, Flexible Hours)

Location: Remote (UK-based)

Day Rate: £250

Start Date: ASAP

Mental Health Swims is a friendly, volunteer-led community creating safe, inclusive spaces for people who want to improve their mental wellbeing through outdoor and indoor swim meetups. We’re a grassroots movement with a big heart and we’re growing.

To support our next chapter, we’re looking for a freelance Bid Writer/Fundraiser who shares our values and can help us build strong foundations for the future.

What You’ll Be Doing

We’re a small, passionate team where everyone wears multiple hats – we’re looking for someone flexible, collaborative, and ready to roll up their sleeves. You’ll be working closely with the team to:

  • Write and support funding bids that reflect our story, values, and impact
  • Develop compelling case studies that showcase the real-life difference our community makes
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities for growth and sustainability

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for people with a proven track record of raising funds for CIC’s and small charities.

You’ll thrive in this role if you are:

  • A clear, empathetic writer and communicator
  • Organised, proactive, and good at juggling multiple tasks
  • Aligned with our values of inclusion, kindness, and mental health awareness
  • Comfortable working remotely and flexibly with a small, values-led team
  • Proven track recording of successfully applying for funding bids for small CICs
  • Experience with community-led or grassroots organisations
  • Knowledge of the funding landscape for small charities or CICs

Bonus Points (but not essential):

  • Lived experience of mental health challenges
